This position will be responsible for leading and managing sales initiatives within Kansas, Missouri, and Arkansas for the turf and ornamental market (golf, landscape, professional lawn care, and agricultural markets). As a member of our professional sales team, you will build strong distributor/customer relationships and use your established industry contacts to generate sales and business opportunities with new, as well as existing clients.
Primary Responsibilities/Activities:
Achieve or exceed sales goals as planned on Turf and Ornamental, and Ag product line accounts by maintaining the existing customer base.
Developing the sales territory by attracting new customers (end-users) and business opportunities.
Manage all elements of sales within assigned territory.
Provide technical knowledge and problem-solving experts to our golf and landscape customers regarding the most effective use and application of products as well as maintaining up-to-date technical knowledge on all aspects of all product lines.
Introduce new products to distributors and end-user customers.
Provide input to the Sales and Marketing groups on competitive activity and market conditions.
Maintain current knowledge of competitive market environment and pressures, relative to the industry and local sales territory.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in turf management, business or agriculture or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: 3-5 years of industry experience in sales roles related to, golf, professional lawn care, horticulture, or landscape industries.
Knowledge of herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, and products associated with marketplace.
Highly developed customer service skills with a proven ability to develop strong client relationships.
Motivated, self-starter with results and solution orientation and the ability to work independently.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to prioritize, plan, and organize daily, weekly, and monthly territory travel and focus.
Working knowledge and skills with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Power Point, Word and Outlook.
Strong time management skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
